Program Description:
Honors Learning Through Service: Guatemala
The service leaning experience in Guatemala consists of a semester of independent study centered on a seven-day trip to Guatemala City, Guatemala. While in Central America, students will visit historical, political, and cultural sites, but the primary purpose of the experience consists of immersion in a school situated in a low-income satellite neighborhood. The school serves children of Guatemala's dump dwellers and UT students will be expected to work in the classroom and complete a construction project on-site.

Registration Information: 
To register for this course, students must be in good standing of the Jesup Scott Honors College. Spanish is recommended but not mandatory.

The program will require physical labor.
